Reunion: Pirates Sign Joshua Palacios to Minor League Deal
The Pirates have signed outfielder Joshua Palacios to a minor-league deal. Palacios will be active on Tuesday night for Triple-A Indianapolis.
It’s a reunion for Palacios, who totaled 114 games for the Pirates from 2023-24. During his time with Pittsburgh, Palacios batted .236/.291/.398 with 11 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 49 RBIs and six stolen bases. Palacios, who turns 31 at the end of this month, first joined the Pirates’ organization as a minor league Rule 5 pick from the Nationals in 2022.
Originally a fourth-round pick out of Auburn by the Blue Jays in 2016, Palacios has spent parts of five seasons in the big leagues between Toronto, the Nationals, Pirates and White Sox from 2021-25. In 207 career games, he owns a .223/.287/.349 batting line with 17 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs, 64 RBIs and seven steals.
Defensively, he’s played all three outfield positions, the bulk of which have come in right.
