Pirates Pitcher Robert Stephenson Set to Make Rehab Start in Triple-A Friday

Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed relief pitcher Robert Stephenson is set to start his rehab assignment Friday night in Triple-A Indianapolis, per the Pirates.

Stephenson has been battling right-elbow inflammation and has started the season on the 15-day IL as a result.

There is no news as to when he will appear in Indianapolis’ opener, as Luis Ortiz is scheduled to start the game again the Omaha Storm Chasers at 7:10 p.m.

Stephenson was claimed off waivers from the Colorado Rockies back on Aug. 27, 2022.

Stephenson made 13 appearances for the Pirates (13.1 innings) and posted an ERA of 3.38 with one walk, 18 strikeouts, and one homer given up.
