While the big league club produced a commanding 8-1 victory Sunday, it was also a productive day with the bats down on the Pittsburgh Pirates’ farm as three affiliates scored double-digit runs. A total of 13 Pirates’ minor leaguers recorded multi-hit games with some of the standout performances highlighted below.

Indianapolis Indians

C Jamie Ritchie

  • Game: 4 for 5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs
  • Season: .214/.347/.250, three doubles, nine RBIs, 29 games

OF Jared Oliva

  • Game: 2 for 4 with two doubles, an RBI, two runs, a walk and a stolen base
  • Season: .221/.277/.380, 13 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 21 RBIs, 14 steals, 68 games

Two unlikely sources led the Indians’ offensive charge in their 11-8 victory over the Louisville Bats. Ritchie recorded a four-hit-day while Oliva filled up the stat sheet. Diego Castillo recorded a pair of hits and drove in two runs.

Altoona Curve

1B Aaron Shackelford

  • Game: 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, three RBIs, a run and a walk
  • Season: .240/.316/.509, 18 doubles, one triple, 19 home runs, 55 RBIs, eight steals, 80 games

INF Liover Peguero

  • Game: 2 for 3 with three runs and a walk
  • Season: .260/.303/.394, 19 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, 40 RBIs, 21 steals, 90 games

Talk about a complete game at the plate for Shackelford who did just about everything in Altoona’s 6-4 loss to the RubberDucks. Peguero had a strong performance too, reaching base three times and scoring three runs for the Curve.

Greensboro Grasshoppers

INF Dariel Lopez

  • Game: 3 for 6 with two RBIs and three runs
  • Season: .294/.332/.504, 14 doubles, one triple, 19 home runs, 51 RBIs, six steals, 89 games

RF Yoyner Fajardo

  • Game: 3 for 5 with a triple, an RBI, a run and a walk
  • Season: .267/.342/.384, three doubles, three triples, six home runs, 26 RBIs, 13 steals, 62 games

Lopez has emerged as a prospect to watch with a strong season and that continued Sunday in the Grasshoppers’ 11-7 shootout win over Bowling Green. With the three-hit game, he’s recorded at least two hits in five of his six August games. Fajardo, who can play both infield and outfield, was on base four times in the win.

Bradenton Marauders

INF Juan Jerez

  • Game: 2 for 6 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs
  • Season: .214/.286/.342, 10 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 11 steals, 59 games

OF Sergio Campana

  • Game: 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs, two runs and two walks
  • Season: .205/.321/.397, nine doubles, one triple, four home runs, 20 RBIs, 23 steals, 75 games

The Marauders took down the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels 12-10 in extra-innings, making them the third Pirates’ affiliate to score double-digit runs on Sunday. Jerez and Campana both had strong days at the plate, as did Tsung-Che Cheng, who was 2 for 4 with a double and two walks.
