Pirates Prospect Watch: Endy Rodriguez Has Big Triple-A Debut
Prior to the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians’ game on Tuesday night, a half dozen prospects were promoted from Double-A Altoona.
With the seasons over at Altoona, High-A Greensboro and Single-A Bradenton, the Pittsburgh Pirates’ brass decided to give continued playing time to a handful of prospects.
Among those players was Endy Rodriguez, who made his Triple-A debut and, as he has done at each level this season, continued to hit.
Here are all the notable performances from Triple-A on Tuesday.
Indianapolis Indians (72-70)
DH Endy Rodriguez
- Game: 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a sacrifice fly
- Season: .667/.500/1.000, one double, one RBI, one game
RHP Osvaldo Bido
- Game: 5.2 innings, two hits, one run (unearned), four walks, 10 strikeouts
- Season: 3-7, 4.17 ERA, 110 innings, 96 hits, 64 walks, 119 strikeouts, 31 games/24 starts
Rodriguez’s effort helped pave the way to a 7-4 Indians’ win over the St. Paul Saints. Not to be overshadowed, Bido recorded double-digit strikeouts for the second time in his career, tying a career-high from 2019.
Catcher Jose Godoy homered and doubled as part of a three-hit night, while first baseman Brendt Citta Drove in three runs.
Ji-hwan Bae doubled, walked and picked up his 30th stolen base of the season.
