All four of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ minor league affiliates are officially done for the season as the Indianapolis Indians’ season came to a close on Wednesday night.

While the season may have ended, it wasn’t before Endy Rodriguez could check off one more box on his impressive 2022 season.

The 22-year-old hit his first Triple-A home run in the Indians 11-3 loss to the Columbus Clippers.

It has been one heck of a season down on the Pirates’ farm for Rodriguez, who began the year with High-A Greensboro.

The catcher/infielder/outfielder hit at every stop and worked his way all the way to the highest level of the minor leagues.

Here is more on Rodriguez’s night and the other performances of note from Wednesday’s game.

Indianapolis Indians (74-75)

C Endy Rodriguez

  • Game: 2 for 4 with a home run, an RBI and a run
  • Season: .455/.435/.773, two doubles, one triple, one home run, eight RBIs, six games

3B Hunter Owen

  • Game: 1 for 3 with a home run, an RBI, a run and a walk
  • Season: .246/.368/.368, two doubles, one triple, one home run, six RBIs, 18 games

Rodriguez’s long ball was one of his two hits on the night. His pair of hits led the Indians’ offense.

Like Rodriguez, Owen hit his first homer of the season with Indianapolis and also drew a walk.

It was a rough night on the mound for Mike Burrows, who made his first start since coming off the injured list with right shoulder inflammation.

Burrows work just two-thirds of an inning and surrendered six runs.
