WATCH: Konnor Griffin Celebrates 20th Birthday With First-Career Home Run

Pittsburgh Pirates Konnor Griffin had to find a different way to celebrate his 20th birthday since he’s still not allowed to legally have a drink. How about hitting your first-career home run instead?
On his first day in his 20’s, Griffin connected on a solo homer to right field off Milwaukee Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead in the third inning. It just so happened to be the 20th game of his career, too.
Griffin, who is considered the top prospect in baseball, entered play on Friday night with a .182/.247/.242 batting line. The homer snapped an 0-for-11 drought at the plate.
The Pirates signed Konnor Griffin to a franchise-record nine-year, $140 million extension earlier this month. The deal will keep him in Pittsburgh through the 2034 season.
