Pirates Minor League Injury Notes: Jack Brannigan Returns From IL

The Altoona Curve have activated Pittsburgh Pirates infield prospect Jack Brannigan from the 7-day injured list. Brannigan suffered a fractured nose during spring training.
The Pirates added the 25-year-old to their 40-man roster this offseason. A third-round pick out of the University of Notre Dame in 2022, Brannigan owns a career .246/.356/.457 batting line with 40 doubles, seven triples, 47 home runs, 153 RBI and 51 steals in 247 games across five minor-league seasons.
Last year with Altoona, Brannigan batted .225/.329/.358 with eight doubles, two triples, five home runs, 30 RBI and nine stolen bases in 59 games before he underwent season-ending surgery to repair the labrum in his right shoulder.
In six rehab games between Low-A Bradenton and High-A Greensboro, Brannigan hit .286 with a .919 OPS, two home runs and two RBI.
Brannigan is batting second and playing shortstop on Tuesday night against the Portland Sea Dogs.
