Pirates Finalize Initial 2023 Minor League Rosters

The Indianapolis Indians have already begun their minor league season and now the Pittsburgh Pirates have finalized their rosters for three other minor league affiliates.

The notable players who will begin the season with Double-A Altoona included 2021 first-overall pick Henry Davis, infielder Liover Peguero and right-handers Jared Jones and Tahnaj Thomas. Altoona will begin their season on Thursday against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

High-A Greensboro has some interesting pitching prospects including Bubba Chandler, Po-Yu Chen and Anthony Solometo. On the position player side of things, infielder Tsung-Che Cheng is one of the highlights. The Grasshoppers 2023 season kicks off on Friday against the Hudson Valley Renegades.

Finally, Low-A Bradenton will be the home to 2022 first-rounder Termarr Johnson. Joining Johnson are outfielder Shalin Polanco, right-hander Thomas Harrington and others. Bradenton’s season will get going on Friday against the Clearwater Threshers
