Pitt Baseball to Host Two Rivals at PNC Park

After a 23-20 2021 campaign, The Pitt baseball team will make its return to PNC Park in 2022. The Panthers will host two of their biggest rivals. In the home of the Pirates. On April 19th, the Backyard Brawl will be renewed as the West Virginia Mountaineers. Then on May 17th they will be hosting the Penn State Nittany Lions. 

Mike Bell head coach spoke about the Panthers being back in PNC Park. 

“A special thanks to the Pittsburgh Pirates and their organization for opening their doors and allowing us the play in arguably the best ballpark in the big leagues A first-class gesture from a first-class organization. We’re extremely excited for the opportunity of our student-athletes to compete and create memories of a lifetime against two storied programs, as we continue to play a little backyard ball.”

The Panthers look to improve on an over .500 2021
