The Pittsburgh Pirates are reinstating outfielder Jack Suwinski from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday’s game against the Chicago Cubs. Fellow outfielder Ji Hwan Bae was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis. Both moves were announced by manager Don Kelly during his pregame media availability.

Suwinski was placed on the injured list on Aug. 29 with a right groin strain. The 27-year-old has totaled 48 games across a couple stints with the Pirates this season and owns a .132/.286/.240 batting line with four doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and six stolen bases.

Defensively, Suwinski has given the Pirates versatility in the outfield, splitting his time evenly between all three positions. He’s played 18 games in center field, 15 in left and 14 in right.

Suwinski made three rehab appearances with Indianapolis and went 3 for 9 with a pair of home runs, three RBI and three walks.

Bae has appeared 13 games on the year for the Pirates and recorded just one hit in 20 at-bats (25 plate appearances). He was hitless in nine at-bats across six games since he was recalled from Indianapolis earlier this month.
