Pirates Recall Aaron Fletcher From Triple-A Indianapolis

Published

on

The Pirates announced that they have recalled left-handed pitcher Aaron Fletcher from Triple-A Indianapolis. Fletcher takes the spot of Dillon Peters in the bullpen after Peters was placed on the 15-day injured list (retro to June 3).

It will be the second stint with Pittsburgh for Fletcher this season, after the 26-year old began the year with the big league club. His first stint did not go well as he posted a 9.53 ERA on 10 hits in 8.2 innings over eight appearances. He walked three and fanned six.

Since being sent down to Indianapolis, Fletcher has pitched well. In 11 innings, he’s posted a sparkling 0.82 ERA on 12 hits, three walks and five strikeouts. The southpaw will look to keep his momentum going out of the Bucs bullpen.
