Three of the four Pirates minor league affiliates played in games on Friday, as the Indianapolis Indians saw their game rained out. The rest of the field suffered miserable outings in an 0-3 day, with 2021 third-round pick Bubba Chandler’s struggles continuing and the Altoona Curve lost via no-hitter.

Triple-A Indianapolis (20-21)

Rainout: Makeup on 5/20

Double-A Altoona (17-18)

The Bowie Bay Sox no-hit the Curve, defeating Altoona 4-0. Henry Davis played right field in the game, drawing a pair of walks in four plate appearances. Shortstop Liover Peguero and designated hitter Lolo Sanchez were the only other Curve players to make their way on base, with one walk each.

Over on the mound, relievers Travis MacGregor (who worked around a pair of singles in his one inning), Juan Minaya (one hit and two strikeouts in two innings) and Cameron Junker (struck out the side) each acquitted themselves well, holding the Bay Sox scoreless in the final four innings.

High-A Greensboro (20-17)

The Grasshoppers fell to the Asheville Tourists 9-7 as their hitting outpaced their pitching, with Chandler’s struggles continuing.

Shortstop Tsung-Che Cheng hit a game-tying grand slam in his lone time on base. Second baseman Mike Jarvis tripled and worked a pair of walks.

Catcher Wyatt Hendrie hit two singles in four at-bats, including an RBI.

Low-A Bradenton (20-17)

Termarr Johnson appeared as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning, getting hit by a 3-1 pitch. Bradenton had another light-hitting day, with all of their baserunners coming via single, hit batter or walk.

Center fielder Enmanuel Terrero reached base three times in five plate appearances, with two singles, a walk and a run scored.
