Pirates Prospect Watch: Matt Gorski Hits Two Bombs

Published

on

Pirates' prospect Matt Gorski rounds third base while playing for the Altoona Curve during the 2023 season.

Pirates’ minor league affiliates managed just one win on Tuesday, with Triple-A Indianapolis the lone bright spot. The Indians were the only affiliate to pick up a win, crushing the Iowa Cubs 18-6 behind a pair of home runs from Matt Gorski. Henry Davis and Malcom Nuñez also cleared the fences.

Altoona suffered an 11-1 shellacking at the hands of the Erie Sea Wolves, while the Curve managed just three hits themselves.

It was more of the same in Greensboro, where the Grasshoppers lost 15-2 to the Greenville Drive… although Termarr Johnson logged an extra base hit for the third game in a row, continuing to show signs of improvement.

The Bradenton Marauders managed to keep things interesting, falling 6-4 to the Dunedin Blue Jays as they allowed a pair of decisive runs across the final two innings.
