The Pittsburgh Pirates lost for the sixth time in their last seven games when they fell 10-4 to the New York Yankees at PNC Park on Saturday.

Bailey Falter and Colin Holderman were responsible for allowing six runs to score in the top of the fifth after the Pirates had built a lead in the bottom of the fourth by scoring four runs of their own. After that, though, the Pirates were held scoreless for the rest of the game.

The Pirates (2-7) will try and salvage their series with the Yankees (6-2) on Sunday afternoon at PNC Park.

First pitch is set for 1:35 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh, MLB Network as well as 93.7 The Fan.

Some morning showers should clear up for game time but it will be cold and cloudy on the North Shore. Temperatures in the low-40s and winds N at 8-10 mph.

LHP Andrew Heaney (0-0, 1.80 ERA) Will Start for the Pirates

Heaney, who signed a one-year deal with the Pirates in the offseason, pitched well in his debut against the Miami Marlins last Sunday.

The left-hander allowed just one run on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 5.0 innings pitched.

Heaney spent the 2024 season with the Texas Rangers and made 32 starts/31 appearances. He finished with a 5-14 record and a 4.28 ERA with 159 strikeouts in 160.0 innings.

RHP Will Warren (0-0, 3.60 ERA) Will Start for the Yankees

Warren made his season debut in a 7-5 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Yankee Stadium on Monday.

The right-hander was a bit erratic and walked four batters but held Arizona to just one hit and two runs across 5.0 innings.

Warren reached the big leagues for the first time last season and went 0-3 with a 10.32 ERA in six appearances/five starts. He walked 10 batters and struck out 29 in 22.2 innings.

One of those six appearances came against the Pirates on Aug. 28. He allowed three runs on two hits in the ninth inning of a 9-4 Yankees win.
