Pirates Postgame: Pitching Doesn’t Hold Up For Peguero’s Debut

Published

on

Today was Liover Peguero’s very first MLB start in which he got his very first MLB hit and walk. Being the youngest Pirate since Aramis Ramirez to record a hit he clearly looks the part of a free swinger, but DiNardo talks about how he came away with this game and what at bat really impressed him.

Even though the Pirates scored 5 runs, the pitching didn’t do its job to secure the lead. Though Jose Quintana pitched well enough, the combo of Wil Crowe and Chris Stratton didn’t pitch effectively which helped Giants come away with their 37th victory. Do you put this one on Shelton? Is it just the inadequate depth of the bullpen for this loss? This one may not be like the others.
