Pirates Postgame: Pirates Can’t Hit Their Way Out Of Extra’s Once Again

Published

on

In another offensively challenged night the better team came out victorious. The Pirates offense was virtually anemic as they struck out 13 times and accumulated a total of 4 hits in 10 innings. The lone run tonight came way by a 377 foot Cal Mitchell home run.

The pitching matchup was solid and Mitch Keller showed he can continue to pitch effectively even without his best stuff. The slider looked very good tonight but he didn’t have great command. Tyler has been quite impressed with this revised version of Mitch and says he is driving the boat of the “Mitch is good” party.

Tonight’s offense was bad, but what can one expect with this talent and the way the lineup is constructed? Tyler and DiNardo have issue seeing which hitter is batting second nightly. Tonight, it was Greg Allen who is now 3-for-25 since being called up to the majors. Listen to find out what else is grinding our gears.
