Pirates Postgame: Eight in Late Bednar Looked Great

Published

on

Today was Roansy day, but it was a rare 8-out save in which was David Bednar’s longest outing of the season sealed the win and ended the 9 game losing streak. However, is it somewhat worrisome how Shelton at time leaves you scratching his head on his bullpen usage but then also works it as if it is game 7 to secure needed victories? Does this also firmly secure Bednar as a top 5 closer?

Why has it been scorching hot in St. Louis? Well, thats because Bryan Reynolds is batting .404 after going 2-for-3 in today’s game in which he raised his June’s average to .404. As much as the offense has struggled, he is showing to be the one constant which seems to bode well for his season outlook. Oh, and there may just be some more support coming this weekend to face the Giants. Maybe.
