Pirates minor league infielder Francisco Acuna has been suspended 80 games without pay by Major League Baseball for violating the league’s drug prevention and treatment program.

Acuna tested positive for gw501516, a performance-enhancing substance, MLB announced Tuesday.

The 22-year-old Acuna has spent the season at High-A Greensboro. He was hitting .271/.361/.452 with six home runs and seven stolen bases in 63 games.

A native of Colombia, Acuna is in his sixth professional season, all in the Pirates’ organization.
