Pirates Minor League Report: Two Homers for P.J. Hilson
Pirates’ affiliates continued their winning ways, claiming three of the four games they played on Friday thanks to excellent starts from Po-Yu Chen and Patrick Reilly along with P.J. Hilson’s third multi-homer game of the season.
The Indianapolis Indians outlasted the Louisville Bats 7-6, leaping out to a seven run lead early that helped them weather the massive comeback.
Double-A Altoona defeated the Harrisburg Senators 4-3, riding seven innings from Po-Yu Chen (who allowed just two runs, one earned, striking out eight batters). Jase Bowen doubled, walked and added the play of the game, robbing what would’ve been the go-ahead home run in the ninth with a leaping grab at the wall.
P.J. Hilson clubbed two homers for the Greensboro Grasshoppers, helping them to a 6-4 win over the Aberdeen IronBirds. Nick Cimillo added his 16th home run of the season, while Patrick Reilly struck out nine batters in 5.2 innings.
Bradenton suffered the lone loss, falling 7-3 to Fort Myers after another quick exit from Mike Burrows.
