Pirates Minor League Report: Charles McAdoo Hits First Curve Homer
Pirates’ affiliates picked up two wins on Saturday, with Charles McAdoo’s hot hitting continuing with his promotion to Double-A.
Triple-A Indianapolis lost 3-2 to the Iowa Cubs, spoiling an excellent outing from Martín Pérez in his first rehab start since missing close to a month with a groin muscle strain.
The Altoona Curve defeated the Bowie Baysox 7-6 in 11 innings, with McAdoo hitting his first Double-A homer. Wyatt Hendrie left the yard and Thomas Harrington turned in six innings of two-run ball, while Jack Carey hung on in extra innings for the win after blowing a ninth-inning save.
The Greensboro Grasshoppers also went to extras, walking off the Hudson Valley Renegades 2-1 in 11 innings. Bradenton fell 9-3 to the Lakeland Flying Tigers, with center fielder Solomon Maguire powering the offense via a three-run homer.
