Pirates’ affiliates headed into the All-Star Break on a high note, winning three of the four games they played on Sunday.

Triple-A Indianapolis fell behind 6-0 early against the Columbus Clippers then scored five straight runs to make it a game. While they scored in the bottom of the ninth inning on a solo homer from Matt Gorski, they couldn’t complete the comeback. Henry Davis also homered for the second game in a row.

Things went better for the Altoona Curve, who defeated the Bowie BaySox 5-3 after both Jase Bowen and Charles McAdoo put up two extra base hits.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Winston-Salem Dash 4-1 in six innings after rain left the field in an unplayable condition. Wilber Dotel struck out eight batters in five innings and Jack Brannigan added a homer, his fifteenth of the year.

Courtesy of a bases loaded free pass drawn by Miguel Sosa, the Bradenton Marauders literally walked off the Jupiter Hammerheads in a 12 inning marathon.

Here are some of the highlights from the Pirates’ farm system in their last set of minor league games until Friday, July 19.
