Pirates’ affiliates lost both of the games they played on Saturday, with Indianapolis falling 8-6 in the 12th inning and Altoona losing 7-2.

With the highest level of the Pirates’ system largely devoid of true position player prospects—instead filled with itinerant big leaguers—members of Pittsburgh’s 40-man roster continue to lead the offense. Joshua Palacios finished a triple away from the cycle for the second time this week and also drew two walks. Left fielder Billy McKinney also reached base five times, including a pair of doubles.

Jase Bowen homered for the Curve, while Nick Cimillo and Kervin Pichardo each singled twice.
