Pirates Minor League Report: Braxton Ashcraft Continues to Excel
Pirates’ affiliates picked up two wins on Tuesday, with a lights-out performance from a top prospect as one of the highlights.
Triple-A Indianapolis fell to the Rochester Red Wings despite five scoreless innings from Braxton Ashcraft.
The Altoona Curve lost 4-3 against the Akron Rubber Ducks, with starting pitcher Drake Fellows running into trouble his second and third times through the lineup.
The Greensboro Grasshoppers pummeled the Jersey Shore BlueClaws 11-4 with the help of home runs from Shawn Ross and Josiah Sightler. Wilber Dotel showed his ability to eat innings, allowing four runs but doing so over 6.2 frames.
The Bradenton Marauders defeated the Clearwater Threshers 9-7 despite late inning theatrics: the two teams combined for ten runs in the ninth inning.
