Pirates Claim Enyel De Los Santos; Steven Brault Done For Season

The Pirates announced today that they have claimed right-handed pitcher Enyel De Los Santos off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies.

In 28 innings of work this year, De Los Santos is 1-1 and carries a 6.75 ERA/5.23 FIP. The 25-year old has picked up 42 strikeouts on the year. He has pitched to a 6.21 ERA in 58 innings in his Major League career.

De Los Santos offers a mid-90s fastball that he throws most of the time, and he also features a slider and a changeup.

To make room for him on the roster, Steven Brault has been transferred to the 60-day injured list, ending the left-hander’s season. Brault went 0-3 with a 5.86 ERA for the Pirates this season.
