Pirates Announce Several New Enhancements to PNC Park

on

PNC Park has been rated as one of the best ballparks in all of Major League Baseball, and if you’ve been there, you would probably agree that its beauty is second to none. The Pirates announced that PNC Park now has some new features and enhancements for the fans’ benefit.

The enhancements at PNC Park include the bullpen, kids play area, the landing, new food concepts, the patio, picnic park, left field lounge, the corner, and celebrating the Pirates’ history.

The Bullpen

Replacing the old gameday security buildings, the Pirates have created a new gathering space. Above the center field bullpens, this space includes two rows of drink rails, good seats, televisions, and a great view of the action.

Kids Play Area

In right field, the kids’ area has had a facelift and has expanded to go along the Riverwalk into the center field area. The new features for the kids include life size bobbleheads, a lucky climber in the shape of a pirate ship, and a kids’ play bridge made to look like the Clemente Bridge.

The Landing

Located above the center field fence line, it gives you a tremendous view of both the action and the Clemente Bridge directly behind you. The new area offers drink rails, tables, and high-top seating.

New Food Concepts

The Pirates have partnered with several local chefs to create a new food experience and specialty offerings. The new concepts will be featured along the Riverwalk and in the arcade under the left field bleachers.

The Patio

Right in between the upper and lower bleacher areas in left field, the patio is now much wider and leveled. The patio now extends from the bullpen to the left field rotunda.

Picnic Park

The Picnic Park has new furnishings, enhanced lighting, landscaping, and additional access points to better connect the new enhancements along the Riverwalk.

Jim Beam Left Field Lounge

The outside of the left field lounge will now be one large open platform with a picket style drink rail that runs the entire length of the platform. This experience will offer the fans the ability to move about and have improved vision to see the action on the field.

The Corner

This experience is open to all fans and located below the left field rotunda. The corner will feature specialty drinks, local craft beers, and traditional Pittsburgh brews. The large corten steel panels will be removed to allow more televisions to better the fan experience.

Celebrating History

Retired numbers will be placed around the landscaping of the Lower Riverwalk for both local and traveling visitors’ enjoyment.
