Pirates Announce 2026 Schedule: Opening Day in New York, 4th of July in D.C.

The Pittsburgh Pirates unveield their 2026 regular season schedule, which will begin on March 26 against the New York Mets at Citi Field. It’s the earliest start to the season in franchise history.
The Pirates will begin the season on a six-game road trip with a three-game series against the Reds in Cincinnati following a three-game series against the Mets.
The Pirates will return to PNC Park for a six-game homestand starting with a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles beginning April 3. It will mark the second time in the last three seasons the Pirates opened with the Orioles at home. The first home series will be followed by three games against the San Diego Padres.
The Pirates will play at home against the Chicago Cubs on Memorial Day and will be on the road in the Nation’s Capital against the Washington Nationals on the 4th of July for the country’s 250th birthday. As they are this season, the Pirates will have an off day on Labor Day.
Pittsburgh will be on the road in San Francisco on Mother’s Day and and in Colorado on Father’s Day.
The 2026 MLB All-Star break is scheduled for July 13-16. The Midsummer Classic will be held at Wrigley Field.
The 2026 regular season will end with a three-game series against the Tigers in Detroit from Sep. 25-27.
