The usual suspects were at it again on Sunday, as Pirates prospects Termarr Johnson and Sammy Siani flashed their ability at the plate, on the basepaths and in the field during the Scottsdale Scorpions’ 4-2 loss to the Salt River Rafters.

Johnson went 1-for-4 with a triple and a walk and added a pair of steals; Siani also reached base twice, walking, singling and swiping another bag. Perhaps most impressive was his play in the outfield, though, as Siani helped prevent a run in the first inning, starting a relay from right field to hose a runner at the plate. He also helped turn a double play, catching a line drive and firing to first to double off Twins’ prospect Kala’i Rosario.

Pirates’ pitching prospects Derek Diamond and Eddy Yean also took part. Diamond got the start and pitched three innings, allowing one run via homer and striking out four batters. Yean got tagged with the loss and a blown save, allowing two earned runs—although a throwing error from his catcher on a stolen base attempt didn’t help matters—and striking out one batter across 1.1 innings of work.

The Scorpions will be back in action at 9pm EDT Tuesday when they travel to face Salt River.
