Pirates prospects helped give the Scottsdale Scorpions their third straight Arizona Fall League win on Thursday, taking down the Glendale Desert Dogs 10-1 with the help of a two-out grand slam from Sammy Siani.

Siani got the start in left field and went 1-for-2 on the day, also drawing a pair of walks and a hit by pitch while raising his batting average to .408.

Shortstop prospect Kervin Pichardo also reached base four times, going 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.

On the mound, right-handed reliever Valentin Linarez pitched 1.2 innings, entering with two on and one out—the tying run at the plate—in the seventh and working a strikeout and a fly out to end the threat. He then racked up three more strikeouts in the eighth, flirting with an immaculate inning for his first six pitches before a pitch that nicked the bottom of the zone was called a ball. All in all, Linarez managed four strikeouts on just 17 pitches, landing 15 of them for strikes.

Scottsdale will hit the road to face the Salt River Rafters at 9:30pm EDT on Friday, November 1.
