Pirates Activate Tucupita Marcano; DFA Yu Chang

The Pirates announced that they have reinstated Tucupita Marcano from the 10-day injured list and. Marcano has been out of action since June 17. In a corresponding move, Yu Chang has been designated for assignment.

In 19 games with Pittsburgh so far this season, the 22-year-old Marcano has hit .268 with a .728 OPS in 19 games. He’s hit three doubles and has driven in five runs. Defensively, Marcano has spent the majority of the time at second base and in left field, giving the Bucs some versatility.

In three rehab games, Marcano has one hit in nine at-bats, has drawn four walks and has scored four runs.

The Pirates acquired Chang at the end of May from Cleveland. In 18 games with Pittsburgh, Chang hit .167 with only a .548 OPS and a pair of runs driven in.
