Pirates Activate Dillon Peters to Start Tonight vs. Tigers

The Pirates have announced that Dillon Peters has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will get the start tonight vs. the Detroit Tigers. Peters was placed on the injured list on Aug. 28 with a lower back strain.

Peters was acquired from the Angeles on July 19 for cash considerations.

In three starts with the Pirates, Peters has a 3.07 ERA in 14.2 innings of work. He’s allowed 14 hits, walked four and struck out 10.

To make room on the active roster, Shea Spitzbarth has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis. Spitzbarth has given up a pair of runs in four innings with the Pirates this season.
