Perrotto: Pirates Adding Much-Needed Intangible Quality (+)

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ 2022 season will be remembered for many things and not all of them were good.

And that goes beyond finishing with a 62-100 record.

There was the cell phone falling out of Rodolfo Castro’s pocket during a game on Aug. 8 against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix. It happened just hours after the infielder had been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

The primary reason why Castro was in Indianapolis? Because of a lack of hustle at the major league level earlier in the season.

Some things just cannot be made up.
