BRADENTON, Fla. – Only the most diehard Pittsburgh Pirates’ fans knew who Luis Ortiz was at this time last year.

The right-hander was coming off a solid season at low-Class A Bradenton. However, he wasn’t considered a hot prospect or lock to eventually reach the major leagues.

Much has changed.
