PBN Around the Horn: With War Comes Solidarity, Lockout Day 2

Published

on

Welcome to the PBN Around the Horn. Here you’ll find news and notes from across Major League Baseball, your Pittsburgh Pirates, and around the Sports Now network.

With the lockout officially official, baseball fans and writers alike will most likely witness a brutal battle between billionaires (owners) and millionaires (players). The billionaires will try to take more from the millionaires and vice versa; in all this mess, we witnessed a form of solidarity with the players on Thursday, making their profile pictures grayed out images of themselves from MLB’s website.

Showing this form of solidarity may indicate the MLBPA digging its heels in; the question is, how long can they dig in said heels in this brutal game of chicken. There’s no doubt baseball is broken, so if it takes a year to make the end product more watchable, competitive, or even both, then we should take that deal every day and twice on Sundays.
