PBN Around the Horn: Something Worth Fighting For, Lockout Day 6
Welcome to the PBN Around the Horn. Here you’ll find news and notes from across Major League Baseball, your Pittsburgh Pirates, and around the Sports Now network.
It hasn’t even been a whole week, and this lockout feels like it’s been going on for months. In all reality, it has, during the ’21 season, we could all feel the tension between ownership and the MLBPA rise and rise like the mountain climber on the price is right. Jomboy said something that stuck out, and I think it fits the entire vibe.
“No one is fighting for the richest of the richest MLB players. We’re fighting for the guys who get run out of baseball who still have a lot to offer to the game. We’re in this cycle of six years of cost control, and you better be the upper echelon once you get out of the six-year window; otherwise, you’re going to flounder.”
As always, let us know your thoughts on the lockout and what they need to do to make the game of baseball at least slightly better.Â
