Welcome to the PBN Around the Horn. Here you’ll find news and notes from across Major League Baseball, your Pittsburgh Pirates, and around the Sports Now network.

Since Thursday is a scheduled off day for the Pirates and they failed to convert the sweep again, here are some quotes from Mitch Keller and manager Derek Shelton on Wednesday night’s loss.

UPDATE (10:32 a.m.)- Pirates promote 2021 sixth-rounder Mike Jarvis to High-A Greensboro

Keller on his outing- “I felt like I did pretty well, there were some situations I felt I did good. There were some balls that just didn’t go my way. Looking back, I don’t think we need to change anything. We executed our game plan; it just didn’t go our way.”

Shelton on Keller and his performance- I think Mitch did pretty well, {Keller} had one walk on a 3-2 breaking ball to Schoop. He threw a fastball above the zone to a guy who’s going into the hall-of-fame whenever he retires, and then you have to ground balls that went in between defenders. {Keller’s} fastball was good, and his slider was good, probably could’ve executed his curveball better, but {Keller} did good.”
