After a comeback victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks (42-84), the Pittsburgh Pirates (45-80) will try and take the series in game two. JT Brubaker (5.49 ERA) will attempt that against Madison Bumgarner (4.06 ERA) first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m

UPDATE (1:12 p.m) Yesterday Pirates prospect Jack Herman won Low-A Southeast Player of the Week honors.

UPDATE (11:38 a.m)- Ke’Bryan Hayes is going to where custom New Balance cleats the entire three game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The cleats will go on auction afterwards and the money made will go to More than Baseball a company made to help empower minor leaguers and help them live a better life.

UPDATE (10:43 a.m)- With last nights win against the Diamondbacks and having both the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles lose, the Pirates move 6.0 games back of Baltimore for the first pick, 3.5 back from Arizona for the second pick, and 1.5 games back from Texas for the third overall pick.

Pittsburgh Baseball Now Notes

Anthony Alford activated, Michael Chavis called up.

Despite being put on waivers, Polanco started last night.

Ke’Bryan Hayes comes in the clutch and seals the comeback win.
