Wednesday, May 18th, your Pittsburgh Pirates (15-21) are trying to salvage one game in the series finale and avoid a sweep against the Chicago Cubs (15-20). The Pirates will send out Wil Crowe (2-2, 2.57 ERA) for the finale, and he will face Drew Smyly (1-4, 3.64 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:40 p.m.

UPDATE (8:44 p.m.) Andrew Knapp has cleared waivers and elected free agency. The backstop was DFA’d earlier in the week.

UPDATE (12:20 p.m.) Wil Crowe is getting the starting nod today against Smyly.
