Our John Perrotto Earns Geneva Hall of Fame Honor; (Should Get More!)

John Perrotto, Pittsburgh Pirates

On behalf of Pittsburgh Baseball Now and the Sports Now Group, including Pittsburgh Hockey Now and Steelers Now, we are proud to share that Geneva College will induct our John Perrotto into the Geneva Sports Hall of Fame.

Perrotto has faithfully covered the Pittsburgh Pirates for five decades. He has captured the spirit of the game nationally for the most prominent outlets and insightfully covered the Pittsburgh Pirates locally. Despite not getting the platform of the biggest local papers, John’s talent and dogged work ethic helped him create a national presence.

Only a few other writers have earned such respect inside the game, been able to separate the real from the fake, and held the Pirates accountable with such precision as Perrotto.

We commend Geneva for naming Perrotto to their Hall of Fame in the “Game Changer” category. In our opinion, there are a few entities who should enshrine him.

In addition to Pittsburgh Baseball Now, Perrotto writes for Forbes Magazine and wrote for Baseball America and USA Today. He was the editor-in-chief at Baseball Prospectus.

Perrotto is a “baseball guy.” We’re incredibly proud to say he’s on our team.

Well-deserved and well-earned, John.

Sincerely,

Your colleagues at Sports Now.
