JT Brubaker Activated Off 10-Day, Kyle Keller Optioned
The Pirates took a while to announce Saturday’s starter, and now we see why it took so long. JT Brubaker has been activated off of the 10-Day IL and will start Saturday afternoon against the Cubs and Kyle Hendricks. Brubaker was on the IL for a right thumb contusion.
The Pirates have optioned relief pitcher Kyle Keller to the Triple-A affiliate in Indianapolis to make room for Brubaker. Keller, so far on the season, has held a 7.13 ERA in 37.0 innings pitched for the Buccos. There is no word on if Brubaker will be on a pitch count watch, but one would assume he is.
ROSTER MOVES: We have reinstated RHP JT Brubaker from the 10-Day IL and RHP Kyle Keller has been optioned to AAA Indianapolis.
