The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Miami Marlins on Wednesday afternoon to cap off a solid 6-3 homestand.

The Pirates, who are now 28-41, are playing their best ball of the season. Since manager Don Kelly took over, the club is above .500 with a 16-15 record.

As the weather heats up, so does the rumor mill. The trade deadline is only seven weeks away, and before that, the Pirates will be on the clock with the sixth pick of the MLB draft on July 13.
