Guess That Pirate
Can You Guess This Random Bucco No. 1: Jack Wilson

In the off-season, it becomes more and more apparent that boredom can set in easily. In times like these, we all need some fun activities to cure the boredom. The reason I bring this up is our tweets over at Pittsburgh Baseball Now and the player we have been hinting at with little clues.
Ok guys, throughout the day we will be dropping stats and little hints about a certain Pirates’ player from the past. It is your job to figured out who it is. Tomorrow morning we will release an article stating who it is. Sound like fun?

The aim of the game is to guess who the player was using all of the clues we have given you and a little intuition. After looking at all the comments, it seems like we have a very bright group of Bucco fans. We even had a right guess on the first clue! The rambling will now cease, and the answer will be revealed.
The player is none other than former Bucco shortstop “Jumpin” Jack Wilson. Congrats to @Go_Buccos_21 and @kjk425 for guessing it right on the first clue. The other ones to guess it right were @Bpaynecpa727, @wdeeee, @JV_PITT, and @battling_bucs.
Although there is no prize, just know that you’ve shown your knowledge for our Buccos!
Wilson spent nine years with the Pirates, making one All-Star game while hitting .269 with 60 dingers and 389 RBI’s. He slashed .265/.306/.366 with a bWAR of 21.3. A phenomenal fielder, Wilson never won a Gold Glove, but his 21 career defensive WAR ranks 48th all-time according to Baseball Reference.
