Bryan Reynolds Named Silver Slugger Finalist

The finalists for the Silver Slugger Awards were announced on Monday and Bryan Reynolds is one of seven to make the cut for National League outfielders. The other finalists are Nick Castellanos and Jesse Winker (Reds), Juan Soto (Nationals), Bryce Harper (Phillies), Adam Duval (Marlins/Braves) and Tyler O’Neil (Cardinals).
Reynolds finished the season with a .302/.390/.522 slash line. He hit 35 doubles, was tied for the Major League lead with eight triples, blasted 24 homers and drove in 90 runs. He played in 159 games for the Pirates and anchored a lineup that largely struggled for most of the season. Among the finalists, Reynolds trailed only Harper and Soto in fWAR (5.5).
Among National League outfielders, Reynolds finished in the top five in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging and OPS. In addition to leading the league in triples, Reynolds collected 169 hits – tops among all National League outfielders in 2021.
Silver Slugger winners will be announced on Nov. 11 on MLB Network. Reynolds will look to become the first Pirates to win one since Andrew McCutchen in 2015. The full list of finalists can be found below.
