MLB Network Ranks Bryan Reynolds 10th-Best Left Fielder

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Bryan Reynolds is ranked as baseball’s 10th-best left fielder by MLB Network.
The network revealed its rankings Wednesday night during an edition of its Top 10 Right Now series. The rankings consider players’ performance over multiple seasons, offensive and defensive metrics — advanced Statcast data and traditional numbers — and MLB Network research team analysis.
Reynolds was selected to the All-Star Game for the second time in his six-year career last season. He hit .275/.344/.447 with 24 home runs and 10 stolen bases in 156 games.
Here is the top 10 list:
1. Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros
2. Jarren Duran, Boston Red Sox
3. Ian Happ, Chicago Cubs
4. Christian Yelich, Milwaukee Brewers
5. Riley Greene, Detroit Tigers
6. Brandon Nimmo, New York Mets
7. Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers
8. Steven Kwan, Cleveland Guardians
9. Taylor Ward, Los Angeles Angels
10. Bryan Reynolds, Pittsburgh Pirates
That sounds about right. He’s a pretty good ball player and I’m glad we signed him. But it’s sad that he’s probably the position player we have in terms of hitting and defensive ability.
