Per the Pittsburgh Pirates transaction page, right-handed pitcher Austin Brice has cleared waivers. Brice was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis and has the option to decline the assignment and become a free agent.

Brice’s contract was selected on Aug. 12 after the news of Yerry De Los Santos was placed the 60-day injury list with a right shoulder strain.

The right-hander has had three different stints with the Pirates this season, amassing an ERA of 4.05 in 6.2 innings pitched.

His last relief appearance with the Pirates was against the Red Sox on Tuesday, where he pitched two shutout innings.

During his time with Indianapolis, Brice has pitched strictly out of the bullpen in 30 games. In 34.2 innings, he has allowed 29 hits and 13 walks, struck out 41 and held opponents to a .220 batting average.
