The 2025 World Series begins tonight.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers will meet north of the border at the Rogers Centre on Friday night for the start of the Fall Classic.

The Dodgers are back in the World Series after besting the New York Yankees in five games a year ago. They are also in search of their third title in the last six years. The Blue Jays, meanwhile, are back for the first time since winning two trophies in a row from 1992-93.

Here are our predictions for how things will unfold.

Griffin Floyd

  • Dodgers in seven games
  • World Series MVP: Teoscar Hernández

The Toronto Blue Jays will put up a valiant effort, ultimately stealing a game or two as they chase the Dodgers’ talented starters from the game and get into the bullpen, Los Angeles’ only real weakness. Likewise, don’t be surprised if Max Scherzer puts on some postseason heroics in his third trip to the World Series.

Despite that, Los Angeles has just too deep a pitching staff and too much star power in their lineup, and they’ll manage to prevail.

Danny Demilio

  • Dodgers in six games
  • World Series MVP: Shohei Ohtani

The Blue Jays are a formidable opponent against the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers. They have some serious star power in their lineup with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., ALCS hero George Springer and the potential return of Bo Bichette. Plus, they have a whole country – and some more support in the United States – behind them.

However, I think the Dodgers are too talented and rested and will be the first team to win back-to-back World Series since the New York Yankees won three straight rings from 1998 to 2000.
