2025 World Series Best Bets
With most of the division races in the bag, except for the AL West, it’s now time to start looking at 2025 World Series bets. According to the latest MLB odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, the Philadelphia Phillies are a +490 favorite to win it all this year.
And they should be a contender. Philly has arguably one of the best lineups in MLB, ranking third in team batting average at .260.
However, I don’t think the Philadelphia Phillies should be the shortest shot to win the 2025 World Series, even slightly.
So who am I betting to win the 2025 World Series?
New York Yankees +750
The Yankees are the highest-scoring team in MLB, scoring a total of 784 runs and averaging 5.2 runs per game. They also lead the majors in home runs, hitting 255 dingers so far this season.
The Yanks have the power to contend with anyone.
If their bats stay hot and they’re able to turn a playoff series into a home run derby, they have a chance to cruise through October. I’ll take them at +750.
San Diego Padres +1400
The Padres still have an outside chance at winning the NL West, sitting only two games back of the LA Dodgers. Yet, they sit two games back because they’ve blown every opportunity to grasp the division lead.
In early September, the Pittsburgh Pirates swept the Dodgers in a three-game series. The Padres responded by losing five in a row to the Baltimore Orioles and Colorado Rockies.
That said, the Padres are top-ten in team batting average and on-base percentage. And if star players like Fernando Tatis Jr, Manny Machado, and Jackson Merrill stay hot, they could cause problems for opponents in a longer series.
Detroit Tigers +1000
The Tigers are the sneakiest team in MLB. They don’t have the legitimate star power like the Yankees, Dodgers, and Phillies. They do have a deep lineup capable of scoring runs in bunches.
Detroit ranks ninth in home runs and tenth in runs scored. Their lineup also features a whopping nine players with double-digit home runs. They don’t rely on one or two mashers like the top-tier of contenders.
They also have one player that nobody else has: Tarik Skubal.
Skubal is the best or second-best starting pitcher in MLB. His 2.26 ERA, 13-5 record, and 0.86 WHIP are a fearsome combination, and he could carry the Tigers to the promised land like ace pitchers of the previous decade.
2025 World Series Best Bets
I’ll say it right now. I don’t think the Philadelphia Phillies should be favored to win the 2025 World Series.
Especially in a field as wide-open as this year’s.
The Yankees, Padres, and Tigers are all bets with more value. And the Dodgers have Shohei Ohtani.
